World Health Day 2021
Building a fairer, healthier world
April 7th, 2021
On World Health Day, 7 April 2021, WHO has called upon to join a new campaign to build a fairer, healthier world.
Our world is an unequal one.
As COVID-19 has highlighted, some people are able to live healthier lives and have better access to health services than others – entirely due to the conditions in which they are born, grow, live, work and age.
All over the world, some groups struggle to make ends meet with little daily income, have poorer housing conditions and education, fewer employment opportunities, experience greater gender inequality, and have little or no access to safe environments, clean water and air, food security and health services. This leads to unnecessary suffering, avoidable illness, and premature death. And it harms our societies and economies.
This is not only unfair: it is preventable. That’s we at ReTHINK INDIA are calling on eduLEADERS to come forward and expand their ongoing as well as propose Health Education Programmes which goes a long way in ensuring everyone, everywhere the right to Health.
Nomination Criteria
Health is a desirable objective which can be achieved through education. Man is a creature of prejudice, a creature of sentiment, a creature of habits, a creature of reason and a creature of refinement.
Health education must take in to consideration these five aspects of human nature. It brings together the art and science of medicine and the principles and practices of general education. Health Education cannot be ‘given’ to one person by another. It involves among other things, the teaching, learning and inculcation of habits concerned with the objective of healthful living.
The Nominee Institution would have to entail the efficacy of their Health Education Programme in terms of
catering to the felt-needs of the pupils
participatory in nature
concrete goal centric
reinforcing
mix ofpositive & negative motivation
practice oriented
evolutionary
