The Genesis
Futuristic Schools of India have to be spearheaded by Forward Looking, Fully Empowered Futuristic Faculty Members. Faculty Proficiency Assessment Test [FPAT] is thereby a humble initiative from the house of ReTHINK INDIA which intends to identify & celebrate the Futuristic Faculty Members across the nook and cranny of India.
FPAT is an ode to the Teaching Fraternity of India – the fifth estate – which has kept the incessant spirit of this ancient civilization intact, anchored duly to its civilizational values & virtues and focused perpetually to the vision of her vast milieu of sages & scholars of all hues, even amidst the worst of the vicissitudes.
At a time when the Indian spirit is trying hard to usher a New India, the role of these educators get all the more profound & pertinent which needs to be celebrated by all means, in all forms of which FPAT happens to be one of the most permeating platforms.
FPAT for K-12 Educators centers around 12 thematic areas. It would be more of an open book assessment whereby the assesses would be free to browse through the internet for fact and figures.
Since FPAT is going to be an online exercise with an almost open book format, gauging the depth & command over the aforesaid thematics would need a higher degree of awareness and understanding, something which we at ReTHINK INDIA feel would be the possession of Futuristic Faculty Member.
Assessment Structure
Each section would have three levels of asks (questions). At the level of Awareness/Information; at the level of Perspectives/Opinions; at the level of Design & Deployment in terms of existing or proposed Use Cases. The advent of the 4th Industrial Revolution would warrant for the curation of applied competencies and that’s what shall be carried forward by Futuristic Faculty Members of India.
There won’t be a single correct answer to any of the asks per se as FPAT is all about the subjective truth of life which we as professionals encounter in day to day lives. There would only be appropriate answers which shall be assessed by a set of 3-5 evaluators spread across the knowledge spectrum, of which the Hon’ble Principal, who happens to be the Presiding Officer shall be one of them. The weighted assessment of this entire deck of experts shall put each one of the FPAT nominees into the triad of Stellar, Exemplary, Outstanding which shall call for a felicitation and an engagement programme further.
The Faculty Proficiency Assessment Test [FPAT] is conducted within the school premises itself whereby the Principal of the said school acts as the Presiding Officer of the same under whose leadership and able supervision the nominated Futuristic Faculty Members shall opine and share their perspectives/learnings on the entire range of 12 thematics.
